Scout and Youth Projects
Click on the link above for illustrated instructions! Children enjoy watching and learning about animals. Often they wish they could do something to help them. The Pasadena Humane Society has a special youth project program to enable children to help our animals. With over 12,000 animals coming to our shelter each year we are faced with many decisions. The Pasadena Humane Society recognizes that animals need more then food, water, shelter and safety. They need activities. Students are invited to make simple toys and treats for the pets. Our trained volunteer staff will be sure each pet gets an appropriate toy.

Summer Workshops
Each summer the Pasadena Humane Society offers two summer workshops for 13 and 14 year olds. After completing a minimum 8 of the 10 classes students will be qualified to become a volunteer before their 15th birthday. Each session students will learn about animal care, behavior and issues as well as interact with animals and enjoy a craft activity. Each day a different animal will be discussed. This program is very popular, and registration fills up early!

Public Resource Research Library for Students
Are you doing a term paper, persuasive speech or debate about animals and issues? Would you like to learn more about animals? Then the Pasadena Humane Society is a resource for you. Our Library filled with books, magazine articles and video programs about animals and related issues is available by appointment for you to use as a research center. If you are interested in using our library please contact Liz at (626) 792-7151 or liz@phsspca.org. Due to the extensive amount of material we can not mail out any portion.
