DOG LICENSING

By law, every dog must wear a current license tag at all times.  Most shelters, including the Pasadena Humane Society, will hold animals wearing a license up to twice as long as unidentified strays and will attempt to contact the owner listed for the license.

Pasadena Humane Society handles dog licensing for two cities only: Arcadia and La Canada/Flintridge.  Residents of Pasadena, Glendale and neighboring communities: you may check our Pet Owner's Guide - Licensing section for your local licensing information. To license your dog in all other cities, contact your city hall or local animal control facility.

Arcadia and La Canada/Flintridge Licensing
Dog licenses may be obtained at any time of year, and are good for one year from that date.  Dogs must be 4 months or older, and have had their rabies shot.  Licenses must be renewed every year, even though tags are permanent.
