Very happy former pets of the week that were adopted in 2007!

Rescued on 5/23 and finally adopted end of 2007! Thanks to Thumping Tails rescue. "Burt" is an 8 year old black Labrador. This sweetie just wants to be loved and to find a new, caring and cozy home. Despite being an older dog, he is outgoing but gentle with people, and likes to go on short walks, which is good as he needs to loose some weight! Watch his web video - click here. He is neutered and would love to find his forever home, which he's been waiting for since 3/23/07. Burt is such a special dog, a wonderful PHS volunteer who is an artist painted this portrait of him!

ADOPTED 12/29 - "Slick" is a black Labrador mix who loves making new friends both human and canine. This sweet dog knows "sit" and "down"commands and walks well on leash. He’ll strut, cool and calm by your side, with his tail held high. He's a gentleman about taking treats gently from your hand and at seven years old, he would be free for adopters over 60.

ADOPTED 12/28 - This very handsome, 4 year-old, black and white cat has unique markings and a very expressive face. Found as a stray on 11/7 with a fractured front leg and other wounds, he has been treated by health staff and has made a great recovery. Favorite activities include, petting, snuggling, purring and curling up in laps. Watch his YouTube video click here. He may always have a limp but he doesn’t seem to mind and would love to go home with you today!

Rescued on 7/28 and then ADOPTED! Please contact Coastal German Shepherd Rescue at 714-528-4730 or email: eacalder@yahoo.com for more dogs like him. This handsome 2 year old purebred German Shepherd started out a little shy in the shelter, but in his foster home he's doing wonderfully! Great with children, other dogs.... Watch his video slideshow click here. He is missing part of one of his ears, so is looking for a home that... maybe if you adopt him, you can name him Vincent! He's housebroken too!

ADOPTED 12/23 - Mellow, playful, affectionate, loves children and adults too. His prior owner said he was an indoor only cat that got along well with the adults and children in the home. He is already neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, healthy, and ready to go home with you today!

ADOPTED 12/21 - Gorgeous and sleek, this 3 year old shorthair female cat was shy when she first came in to the shelter, so she may need time to adjust to a new environment, but now she is super affectionate. Watch her YouTube web video click here. She is playful, loves being pet, and having under her chin and neck rubbed!

ADOPTED 12/20 - Looking for a super mellow dog? You've found her! Volunteers just love spending time with this 2 year spayed female Pitbull and Mastiff mix, saying she actually prefers to lay in the kennel and get rubs as opposed to going out to walk! So so sweet. She's been waiting to be adopted since 10/21 - please come in to meet her today.

ADOPTED 12/20 - is an adorable 3 month old spayed female kitten. She is white with gray patches on her head, and grey round patches on her body, so adorable! She is super affectionate, playful and talkative. Watch her YouTube video click here. She is currently in our clinic (she was just spayed) so please ask in our adoptions office to meet with her. She is available for adoption and to go home with you today!

ADOPTED 12/18 - This beautiful, elegant, all-black 1 year old shorthair female cat is very affectionate and outgoing! She loves to be pet, will arch her back into her your hand, and then present her chin for scratching. Watch her YouTube web video click here. She is "talkative" and will meow if you ask her a question to keep up her end of the conversation! She also loves to purr. She's been waiting to be adopted since 10/17.

ADOPTED 12/15 - This adorable spayed female Poodle mix likes to be treated like a princess. She really enjoys getting bathed and groomed and will give you gentle kisses to show you her appreciation. Nothing can dampen her day. She is always happy and loves to play play play. She is ready to be adopted and brighten your day!! At 6 years old, she would be a free adoption for adopters over age 60.

ADOPTED 12/13 - Very sweet and talkative! This 1 year 7 month domestic short hair cat has very beautiful tuxedo markings, along with a fancy white stripe down her nose! She loves being pet, and will rub up against your hand, arching her back and presenting her chin. Watch her YouTube web video click here What a lovely, affectionate cat!

ADOPTED 12/12 - Are you looking for a dog already trained to be an excellent walking companion? Then this handsome Shepherd and Hound mix might be the one for you! He was found as a stray, but already knows to sit and wait while you put on his collar and leash, and walks without pulling at your side. He's also a sweetheart! At 7 years old, he would be a FREE adoption for adopters over 60 years of age.

ADOPTED 12/12 - is a spunky spayed female Chihuahua, who has waiting to be adopted since 10/23! She's been out several times with our mobile van, and has done well with adults and many other dogs. As she needs to learn how to take treats gently, she may do best in a home without small children. She loves just curling up in peoples' laps and is just adorable! At 8 years old, she would be a free adoption for adopters over age 60.
ADOPTED 12/12 - Very friendly and easy to handle. She transfered smoothly to another person when handed to them to be held. And she enjoys being held! Likely would make a lovely pet for the entire family. She is now available for adoption and you may see her in our South Aviary rabbit hutches.

ADOPTED 12/11- This handsome 7 year old shorthair cat was found in excellent condition, with one eye that had been previously removed. He did test positive for FIV but has obviously been well cared. It is likely he was previously vaccinated against FIV and will test positive even if he does not have the disease. He went out with our Mobile on 12/2/07 and was very nice and happy to meet people. He spent a lot of the time at the front of his kennel interested in all the activity.

ADOPTED 12/11 - is an adorable, 12-pound Chihuahua mix, who was found hit by a car with a fractured pelvis and tail. With a lot of special care and attention from our vet staff, this 1 year old spayed female made a complete recovery, is walking well, and is now available for adoption! She is calm, slightly shy of new people and places, gets along well with other dogs, does not appear to be a barker, and is very very sweet.

ADOPTED 12/9 - Super sweet and affectionate! 1 year old neutered domestic short hair cat. He is used to living with other cats, being an indoor-only pet, and is litterbox and scratch trained. Look at his beautiful sleek all-black coat, very elegant indeed! *He is currently at our special foster location at the My Pet Garden store in Pasadena. Please visit us during adoption hours & ask in adoptions to meet with him.

ADOPTED 12/6- What a great puppy! This 10 month old neutered male Pitbull and Bulldog mix. He's been out with our mobile unit several times, as they said he's one of the best dogs they've had out, especially how well he behaves around other dogs. Watch his web video click here. He knows "sit" and "down" commands and takes treats really gently. He is very playful and submissive and has very good manners. He loves people, walks well on his leash and is a wiggly ball of love.He loves playing with toys. Sweet, playful puppy!

ADOPTED 12/7 - Fred a 5 year old neutered male shorthair orange tabby cat. Fred was adopted, but returned as he really wanted to play with their other older cats, who weren't interested! He was happy as an indoor-only cat, well behaved, and affectionate. He went out with our mobile on 12/2 and they said: "Fred is cool. He is very affectionate with people. He was a little shy at first, but eventually came right to the front of the kennel for attention." He would be a free adoption for adopters over 60 years of age. click for adoption info

ADOPTED 11/27 - Mona a 4 year old spayed female shorthair tabby cat. See her YouTube video click here. Very sweet! Arched her back into being pet, rubbed her chin along my finger for more. She's has the cutest little meow! Her prior owner said someone moved into their home with allergies so they couldn't keep Mona any longer, was mostly an indoor cat, sweet and happy as the only pet.

Rescued by Animal Alliance on 11/10, then re-adopted. "Tali" who is very affectionate, talkative (purrs and cute little meows), and did we say sweet? You can see her rolling over ask to be pet in this photo! She's a 2 year old spayed female tabby, found with her kittens who have all been adopted. Watch her YouTube video click here. She will sometimes "love bite" if she is pet continuously, so needs an adopter that understands that she means no harm.

ADOPTED 11/24 - "Bingo" is a 2 year old Border Terrier mix who weighs 22 pounds. Loves belly rubs and fetching tennis balls! This spunky little terrier mix thinks he's a big dog! He like to run and play, and settles down next to you while being brushed. He is very loyal to his owner. He gets along with female dogs his size or smaller. He is housebroken, trained in both English and Spanish commands, likes to ride in the car, go for walks, and snuggle next to you on the couch.

ADOPTED 11/24- Suuuuuuper sweet and affectionate! He loves being pet, and will even roll over so you can rub his belly! We love this tabby cat's roman nose too, it gives him a very distinguished look. He is a 3 year old male domestic short hair tabby cat. The $65 adoption fee includes neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and free follow-up health check at participating vets, cardboard carrying box, collar, and a very happy cat!

ADOPTED 11/20- This adorable 6 month old rabbit was originally too young to be adopted out, so was fostered by one of our staff with brother bunny, though she may prefer to be the only bunny - or she could possibly bond to a neutered male if properly introduced, now that she is spayed. She'd been waiting to be adopted since 7/13!

ADOPTED 11/18 - "Ricky" is very very sweet! He is shy at first, but bonds very strongly with his owner, and loves to be by their side, be brushed and have his belly rubbed. He is housebroken and not aggressive with dogs outside his home, but would probably prefer to have his family all to himself. See his YouTube video click here. On 10/20/07 he went out with our mobile, and they said he had a really great day. He was shy at first, but after about an hour his tail was wagging, and he seemed genuinely happy to be there. He did well meeting lots of people as well as several dogs. At 5 years old, he is would be a free adoption for adopters over 60. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready to go home with you today.

ADOPTED 11/13 - This beautiful 5 year spayed female Lab mix is so silly and cute in her kennel! She dances around and playbows when you talk to her. Watch her dancing in her YouTube video click here. She is hand shy (shy about being touched), and so is looking for a loving home with the patience and experience to continue her socialization. She is a FREE adoption for adopters over 60! She's been waiting to be adopted since 9/7, and is hoping someone will adopt her soon.

ADOPTED 11/11 - pair of twin cameo tabby 2 year old neutered male short hair cats, the other is ID# A222151. These gorgeous brothers are mellow and affectionate. See their YouTube video click here. They were found together as strays, and are available for adoption as a pair for $75, or you can also adopt just one for $65, which includes neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and a free health exam at participating vets.

Rescued on 7/27 and then adopted thanks to United Hope 4 Animals at info@hope4animals.org - "Nina" a 6 year old spayed female Chihuahua mix. What a sweetie! This little girl is joyful and energetic, when out in the play yard she'll surprise you with how high she can jump to say hello! She greets everyone with a happy wag, likes to hop into your lap and enjoys a massage. Doesn't seem interested in toys. Doesn't mind being picked up and carried. Seemed friendly & interested in a small dog that came by too.

Rescued on 8/19, placed in a foster home for a few months, then adopted thanks to United Hope rescue! Dylan is an amazing 6-7 year old neutered male, black and tan Rottweiler and Doberman mix, long and lanky! What a great dog! Knows sit, and will take treats so gently. Walks really easily on a leash once he gets some of his energy out, which he loves to do by playing with other dogs. He is super dog friendly. Someone even trained him to sit and wait at street corners for the light to change! He is currently in a foster home with many other dogs in San Diego, but would love to find his forever home soon.

RESCUED 9/22 by Forte Rescue, then adopted! What an amazing dog! This adorable beagle mix was found with a growth on her leg. Although it must have been uncomfortable, she still was happy, playful, and extremely loving. YouTube video click here Now that the polyp has been removed, and her prognosis is very good, she is ready for a new home! She is believed to be about 8 years old but she plays and prances like a youngster, and seems to get along well with smaller dogs. She is spayed and ready to go home with you today.

ADOPTED 11/6 - What a sweetheart! This 2 year old white & tabby female cat is the perfect combination of calm and sweetness, and look at that cute freckle on the end of her nose! When you first come up to her cage, she may be sitting quietly in the kennel, but ask for a counselor to open her door so you can start petting her, and see how affectionate and loving she really is.

ADOPTED 11/2 - This darling little 14-pound 1 year old Chihuahua mix was quite shy when she first came in, but she's made such an improvement! She is still very much a puppy, and likes to play with your hands with her mouth, and will need to learn to take treats more gently. Loves to sit in your lap and get attention. She's gotten along very well with all the other dogs she's met, and is super cute! She has already been spayed so she is ready to go home with you today. She's been waiting for her forever home since 9/14 too!

 

ADOPTED 10/26 - Staff favorite! You have to meet this guy in person to understand why... despite being found with a huge abscessed wound on his face, injured ears, skinny and dirty, he was and still is such a happy guy! He was so well behaved in our clinic while being treated, and while around the clinic dogs, cats & rabbits. He's looking for an adopter with a BIG heart who can see past his "looks" to his heart of gold.

ADOPTED 10/23 - This gorgeous blue-eyed shorthair 6 month old kitten has a pure white coat and was found as a stray on 9/28. She is very friendly and likes to play with cat toys. The regular cat adoption fee is $65 which includes the spay or neuter surgery, microchip, vaccinations, and a free follow-up health check at your vet.

ADOPTED 10/19 - What a lovely cat Amelia Rose is! This 1 year old shorthair cat was found as a stray with her litter of kittens, and was so sweet and affectionate, shelter staff took her home until her kittens were old enough to be adopted. Now they're available and Miss Amelia Rose is ready to go home soon too! She has a beautiful plush tabby striped coat and exotic slanted eyes, and loves to be pet and brushed.

ADOPTED 10/18 - one mellow bunny! He's favorite activites appear to be chillin... and relaxing... and maybe a little snuggling in your lap. He is good about being pet and picked up, and overall we find him to be friendly and very sweet! $25 adoption fee includes he would be neutered prior to an adopter taking him home. Rescued on 9/8 and then adopted thanks to karmarescue.org 310-512-RUFF (7833) -- Watch his web video on YouTube click here -- This handsome Shepherd mix was found with injured paws, but with some special care from our health staff, he's as good as new! Now he loves running around the play yard, as well as sitting next to you for petting and massaging. He was out with our Mobile van and played well with another older male dog. He knows "sit" command and takes treats very gently too.

ADOPTED 10/16 - This 4 month old adorable kitten was in the back being treated, but as of 10/12 is all better and now available for adoption! Please ask to meet her by ID# in case she hasn't been moved yet out to the main adoption room.

ADOPTED 10/12 - this a gorgeous 3 year old spayed female blue longhair cat who is ready to go home with you today! This sweetie pie loves attention, and has two different colored eyes: one green and one gold. She does have one ear that is missing its tip, which is maybe why this lovely girl hasn't been adopted... or maybe she's waiting for you?

ADOPTED 10/7 she was spayed and is *still in our clinic as there is no room for her out in the cat ward, so make sure to ask to see her! She's a beautiful 5 month old kitten, a bit shy at first, but spend some time with her and you'll see how very sweet and affectionate she really is. She enjoys being pet and will presenting her chin for more. She's curious with toys, and is able to be picked up. She is looking for an adopter that has the patience and love to give her time she needs to adjust to a new home.

ADOPTED 10/6 - This adorable little tuxedo kitten is so sweet, playful and affectionate! 3 months old, loves being pet and purrs to show it. He was found as a stray with his siblings, and now they've all been adopted, except for this cutie. He would love a home with another kitten (only $10 more) or someone with lots of affection, toys and playtime!

DOOZE WAS ADOPTED 9/30 - Dooze & Mon were best friends! Dooze is a 2 year old purebred Siberian Husky, who was best friends with Mon, but he was adopted to a new home with another Husky mix to be his new best friend. Dooze's prior owner said he was housebroken, well-behaved inside, should have secure 6ft or taller fencing, and access to sleeping in a heated area at night. (Mon was transferred to Butte Humane Society in Chico, CA where he will be safe until he finds a home.)

ADOPTED 9/30 - she is a beautiful all-white 10 month kitten, who was found as a stray pregnant back on August 3rd, and spent a month recovering in our clinic. Now she is super sweet, affectionate, healthy, spayed, and ready to go home with you today! (This silly photo is because she keeps flopping over for neck scratches.) ADOPTED 9/29 - See "Farf" a gorgeous sweet 2 year old cat being such a good boy getting his nails trimmed in his web video on YouTube click here. Farf's prior owners said he can be independent, knows how to use his scratching post (and not the couch), and loves to play. He slept in his owners bed, got along well with their other cats, and liked to chase rats & mice while outside during the day, though of course he'd be just as happy and a lot safer chasing toys inside!

ADOPTED 9/23 - This lovely 3 year old domestic shorthair (who might have a touch of Siamese in her) has a wonderful personality and the most adorable little voice. In a prior home, she got along well with other cats, children, and dogs too! She likes to talk and especially enjoys petting and snuggling. She's already spayed and microchipped, and is ready to go home with you today.

ADOPTED 9/22 - Sweet dog! This little 25-pound guy was shy when he first came in, but with some special attention from our trained volunteers, he was soon enjoying going on walks and snuggling. He went out twice with our mobile, and they said he loved meeting people and going for walks, played well with another young male dog, and acts more like a puppy than a 7 year old Beagle mix... and he might have some Basset Hound in him, as he has adorable short legs too!

Rescued on 8/5 then adopted thanks to Strangest Angels and A Wish For Animals rescue. This super friendly 3 year old black Labrador mix is a lot of fun! She went out with our mobile van and did really well at the stop. She showed that she knows the "sit" and "down" commands, got along well with all the dogs we brought along, and really enjoyed meeting new people.

ADOPTED 9/15 - all her littermates got adopted, leaving this super affectionate cutie all alone! She's been waiting to be adopted since 8/3 and does have a kitty cold, but is hoping someone won't mind giving her the care she needs, as her appetite and energy levels are great, as you can see in her web video from 8/25 on YouTube click here. She is 3 months old and would love to go home with you -- please ask to see her as she is housed in the grooming room.

ADOPTED 9/15 TOGETHER!!! Boy a 4 year old neutered male tabby cat. He is a little overwhelmed being here at the shelter, so may appear shy, but his prior owner said he is an active and fiesty boy who likes to play! He likes to use his scratching post and loves his sister cat "MOMMA" who is a gorgeous longhair (that's her in the photo at left). Both cats were well-behaved indoor-only pets.

ADOPTED 9/12 - "Pollie" is a 7 year old spayed female Shepherd mix. Pollie, a calm, sweet girl, is a little on the shy side. She enjoys gentle brushing, petting, and snuggling. She is very polite and knows not to jump up on people. Her prior owner said she is good with other dogs. Because of Pollie’s shy nature, she would love a patient home where she’ll receive lots of attention and encouragement. Her prior adopter said she is so housebroken she wouldn't evem go to the bathroom in the yard, only while out on walks! She also got anxious when left inside their house totally alone, but was fine out in the yard. She might do best with another dog for company, and a family that can take her out for twice daily walks.

Rescued on 6/16 and then adopted thanks to A Wish For Animals rescue 949-481-6402. Hank is an awesome 2 year old Staffordshire Terrier. He's a "lowrider" model, with a huge broad chest and head and beautiful blue and white coat. Hank the Tank (as he's affectionately known) rolls along easily at your side on leash, and has done really well with the other friendly dogs he's met. He does still act like a big puppy sometimes (jumps up) so he'd probably be best for a home without small children that he might knock over when he happily says hello!

ADOPTED 9/11 - a very handsome 4 year old male tabby cat, who likes nothing more than to push his head into your hand, asking to be pet, meowing to keep up his end of the conversation, and purring up a storm. See this outgoing affectionate tabby cat's web video on YouTube click here.

ADOPTED 9/11 - This little 35-pound girl is very very sweet! She is a bit overwhelmed being at the shelter, so may appear shy in her kennel, but take her out for a walk and you'll see a more relaxed side of her personality. Once she's out in the park, she is very easy to walk on leash too. Watch her web video on YouTube click here On Mobile 8/29/07. What a sweetheart! She was really great with all the kids who came by; she was very calm and gentle with them. She knows "sit" and "down" commands, takes treats really gently, and is a dream to walk. At 6 years old she would be a free adoption for adopters over 60 years.

RESCUED by Helping Persians Rescue to be adopted to a waiting home! This adorable little girl cat was a little shy when she first came in, but now is super affectionate and talkative! She rolls around asking for belly and neck rubs, as you can see her do in her web video on YouTube click here. She is a 1 year old female Russian blue domestic shorthair mix.

ADOPTED 8/29 is so so cute... he's just 6 months old, very friendly, easy to handle, good about being picked up... and he's already neutered and ready to go home with you today!



Rescued on 6/7 and then adopted thanks to a foster home and Mollys Mutts & Meows. Garfield the 5 yr old cat (A213568) & Charlene the dog were a pair of best friends who have lived their whole lives together. Charlene was adopted, but Garfield still needs a home! Watch Garfield's web video - click here. He is so sweet and outgoing, he rolls around and purrs making it hard to get a good photo of him! Unfortunately, they were not able to accompany their owner into an assisted living home. Their owner said they are very well behaved & trained. Garfield has a deep meow like Barry White!

ADOPTED 8/26 - this lovely, lovely cat is so sweet and affectionate! Black cats are the least likely to be adopted, but this handsome large fellow is hoping he'll beat the odds, and charm you with his shiny sleek coat, rubbing and purring. ADOPTED 8/26 - What a doll! Kelly, a nine-year-old black and white, longhaired cat couldn't be sweeter. She is beautiful, easy going and just wants to be loved. Kelly would be perfect in an apartment or condominium, as she is used to being an indoor-only cat. She is very calm and will be a great lap cat. She is a free adoption for adopters over 60 years.

ADOPTED 8/25 - this is one of our extra-lovely adult cats! His owner passed away sadly leaving him behind with no one to care for him. He is just 3 years old and such a sweetheart! He may act a little shy at first in new surroundings, but if you just give him some time and love, he'll start purring and rubbing his chin against your hand, asking for affection. A quiet, easy, lovebug!!

ADOPTED 8/25 - This adorable spotted bunny is very very sweet! She is good about being handled and incredibly cute too. She was found as a stray with a old broken leg that is completely healed completely, but she will likely always carry her front foot up and hop with a limp.

Rescued 8/22 by Adopt A Chow rescue who will transport her to her forever home in Northern CA! This little petite girl is so darling and cute! She has a snazzy summer hair cut with a pom pom tail that she wags and wags when you pet her. She knows the sit command too! She went out with our mobile unit and was a little reserved at first, but soon warmed up, and did well with all the children and dogs she met. Watch her web video click here. At just 6 years old, she qualifies as a free adoption for adopters over 60 years of age. She is already spayed, vaccinated, and ready to go home with you today.

ADOPTED 8/21 is an adorable solid gray 3 month old cutie who was adopted, but then had his adoption cancelled due to a landord changing their mind. He got all neutered and ready to go home too! He's super affectionate, loves people and other kittens, and would make a great playmate for another kitten. Adopt a 2nd kitten for just $10 more - everyone knows, once you have two kittens, its so much fun, you'll never just adopt one again!

ADOPTED 8/21 - This petite 28-pound girl used to be shy when she first was found as a stray, and even then she'dl come sit right next to you asking to be gently pet, and then rolls over for belly rubs! She would likely prefer a calmer quieter home, though she loves to play and go on walks, so one that likes that too! At 5 years old she would be a free adoption for adopters over 60 years, and since she's already spayed she is ready to go home today.

Rescued on 8/5 and then adopted 8/19 thanks to strangestangelsr@yahoo.com and A Wish For Animals rescue. Hershey is as sweet as her name! This playful 4 year old Chinese Sharpei / Doberman / Chocolate Labrador mix was adopted from us as a puppy, but sadly returned 4 years later. She is very well-behaved, good with children and adults, and loves going for walks, runs and hikes. She would love an active home to match her athletic outgoing personality!

ADOPTED 8/14 - just 4 months old, this adorable tortise-shell colored kitten has the cutest markings, and cutest personality! She is very outgoing and curious, playful, but also loves to snuggle and will start purring up a storm the minute you pick her up. She would probably love being adopted by a family or active household with lots of people and pets for her to play with too. click for adoption info

ADOPTED 8/14 - "Whiskers" a wonderful 3 year old male rabbit. This bunny is really really nice! He is good about being handled, and was a star on our PetPals TV show.

ADOPTED 8/11 - This 2 year old shorthair cat is King of the Belly Rub! ADOPTED 8/7 - Did you know that black cats bring GOOD LUCK? It's true! A215140 is a 2 month black kitten who used her good luck powers to get taken in by one of our volunteers in our foster program until she was big enough to be adopted, which is now! She is confident and affectionate, loves to be pet, and will rub her chin along your fingers, then flop over to show you her belly, asking for belly rubs. RE-ADOPTED 8/7 - is "Annie" and she's really hoping that the fourth time will be the charm... she's been adopted and returned three times, each adopter saying she's a fantastic dog but needs more time and attention than they could give her. We think this spunky small 4 year old Border Terrier would like a really active home, maybe with lots of dogs and kids and friends and walks, because she is very smart and really likes to have fun! \

ADOPTED 8/5 - Everybody loves Isaac! This big guy is sweet and friendly with everyone he meets, including other cats! Found hit by a car, he received some special care from our health staff and now he's as good as new. He is being housed in the clinic, so you’ll have to ask the adoptions staff to meet him. ADOPTED 7/31 - Goofy sweet puppy alert! This 6 month old puppy was just 5 months when he was found as a stray wandering the streets of Pasadena. He's been waiting since then hoping someone would look past his sissored off ears to see what a beautiful dog he is on the inside! He is a Pitbull and maybe Hound or Lab mix, so he would like a fun active adopter who will appreciate his playful personality... and that he's going to be a big boy, he is already 40 pounds! He went out with our mobile van on 7/22 and they said he was such a good boy. He knows "sit" command, walks well on leash, and loves people. He was also good with other dogs.

ADOPTED 7/29 - Meet "Mole" a neutered male bunny and his best friend "Fajita". This bonded pair are so incredibly cute and sweet, sleep nestled up against one another and love playing and grooming each other too. They are currently in our South Aviary, waiting for you to stop by for a visit!

ADOPTED 7/28 - This handsome big guy is a sweet teddy bear! He loves to have his head rubbed, is quiet, calm and did we mention affectionate? A really lovely cat. ADOPTED 7/28 - a 1 year 7 month old domestic short hair cat. She has a super sleek shiny and elegant all-black coat. Black cats are known for bringing their homes GOOD LUCK! She went out with our mobile van on 7/22/07 and they said, "What a sweetheart. She loved people, spent most of the time at the front of the kennel, and is very conversational with her meowing." "Lilly" Rescued 12/27/2005 by Coastal German Shepherd Rescue and adopted in 2006. This 10 year old German Shepherd lady walks beautifully on leash, is gentle, and calm. She is thriving in her foster home, who says her soulful eyes and quiet nature are a joy to be around, she wakes up every morning with her tail wagging and if you are not ready to greet her she will lay patiently by your bed waiting until you get up. She tolerates other dogs but would prefer to have a human all her own.

ADOPTED 7/27 - "Prince Nez" a 1 year old, black and white domestic longhair is ready for adoption! Prince’s previous owner said he is cuddly and sweet. ADOPTED 7/16 - What a beautiful bunny! Anna, a 9 month old, indoor rabbit, has lovely long eyelashes and a little beauty spot next to her nose. Although she is good with children, Anna can be shy and would prefer a quiet home. She would be spayed prior to adoption (included in the $25 rabbit adoption fee), and is currently in our South Aviary, waiting for you to stop by for a visit!

ADOPTED 7/15 - Such beautiful, soulful eyes on a gorgeous, golden coat! This sweet 2 year old Sharpei-Lab mix can be a little shy in new settings, but spend some time with her and she’ll come into your lap and give you gentle kisses! She sits for treats, walks really well on leash, and is such a love. She just rests her head on your lap and gives you the "love me!" look. She was adopted but the adopters landlord felt she was too big so she was returned.

ADOPTED 7/12 - What a handsome guy! Logan, a six year old, German Shepherd mix, is such a good dog. "Mary Kate" is good about being held, and her prior owner said she was a well-behaved indoor-only cat who is nice and calm, she's lived with other cats before, and was turned in with her kittens who were all adopted. Adopted by their foster home after a year! Meet this beautiful trio of 2-year old cats, Bella & Donna and their brother, Fred a brown tabby pictured below. Their previous owner went on a trip to Italy, had a stroke, and could no longer care for them. Bella is the most outgoing - once she knows you, she'll approach you for some neck scratches, while Donna prefers your company from afar, but will let you pet her. Fred is in between - he'll purr when you pet him but only if you approach him slowly, he will not approach on his own. They used to be outdoor cats that slept in a basement and now in their foster home stay in a covered dog run at night, with access to a side yard with a 6 ft fence during the day, and have not escaped. They would love a quiet home - either indoors, or one where they have a similar safe outdoor area and could come inside at night. They are litterbox trained and very quiet, super easy pets!

ADOPTED 7/5- this adorable 4 year old spayed female Shepherd and Hound mix was very fearful when she first came in, found as a stray June 12th. She is in our special shy dog socialization program, and is doing really well! She even went out with our Mobile Unit to a Sparks basketball game on 7/1! They said she got along well with other dogs, and met quite a few people happily in her playpen, though while out on leash she still tends to be shy. She knows "sit" command and takes treats very gently too.

ADOPTED 7/5 - "Annie" a 7 year old Turkish van longhair cat with gorgeous golden eyes. She is very affectionate and playful with people, loves attention, and very easy to handle. She was a doll when out with our mobile van, and loved all the people who came by. Since she is declawed in front, she needs to be an indoor-only pet. Her prior owner said she loves to be sung to and brushed, and was an indoor only cat.

ADOPTED 7/1 - THIS gorgeous 1 year old female, who unfortunately is in the bottom-most back kennel in our cat ward, which must be why she's getting overlooked, because such a sweet cat would surely be adopted if not! ADOPTED 6/30 - This adorable 3 month outgoing kitten is playful and lots of fun! All her siblings got adopted, leaving this one little girl behind. She has the cutest little raspy meow too. ADOPTED 6/24 - What a sweetheart! This lovely 1 year brindle spayed female Pitbull and Shepherd mix was found hit by a car, but made a wonderful recovery! She may always have a slight limp and be fearful of cars still, but she walks perfectly next to you on leash, though if you sit down, she might try to sit in your lap! ADOPTED 6/23 - This roly-poly 6 month old Sharpei & Lab mix puppy is full of energy and loves to play! She has a beautiful, soft and shiny coat, and adorable little face, and currently weighs 26 pounds (she'll likely be 40-50 pounds when she's full grown). One of her eyes has a "cherry eye" however it doesn’t seem to bother this spunky pup one bit. Adopters will need to consult with their regular veterinarian as to any possible treatment. ADOPTED 6/23 - What an interesting cat! This beautiful, solid white, Siamese cat, is ready for adoption. This sweet girl can be a little shy and would prefer a quite home where she will have time to adjust to her new surroundings. ADOPTED 6/22- Daisy's prior owner passed away, leaving this 8 year old Pointer mix behind. Watch her web video - click here. She went out with our Mobile van on 4/14/07 and they found her to be very friendly with people and some other dogs at the stop, playing with a similar size dog a little, taking treats very gently. She has been at the shelter waiting to be adopted since 3/30 and may appear depressed in her kennel, so please ask to take her out to see how happy she gets! She is good on leash, though fearful of loud motorcycles.

Rescued on 11/12/05 and adopted after over a year and a half thanks to A Wish For Animals rescue. Sami is just a sweet love! He loves to give kisses and hugs and especially loves to fall asleep on your lap! He has been through a great training program and when adopted, the trainer will come to his new home so that the trainer can show his new family all of his good behavior and teach them how to keep up the good work. He was a bit fearful of other dogs at first but the trainer has taught him to be able to be with other dogs and not be so afraid for the most part. Sami is about 1-2 yrs. old and is looking for someone to let him give lots of love!

Sierra was rescued 2/3/07 and then adopted thanks to Husky Camp rescue. Sierra is a wonderful 9 year old spayed female Siberian Husky. Sadly, her owner died leaving her and her German Shepherd friend (who was adopted) behind with no family to care for them. She has a beautiful coat and adorable face to match her glowing personality. She went out with our mobile van on 1/14/07 and was a big hit with everyone who came by. She knows "sit" and "shake" commands and will happily do them for treats. She enjoyed brushing and attention from everyone.

Rescued on 5/17 and adopted 6/17 thanks to Passion 4 Paws rescue. This strong, handsome 4 year old Shepherd mix is very outgoing and friendly with people. He acts like he is still a big puppy! Knows his sit and will lie down if he doesn't get his treat right away. He is still learning not to jump up or pull while on leash but is making progress, as he is very smart! Watch his web video - click here. He'd likely benefit from and enjoy a training class, and do best in a home without small animals. He is living in a foster home with other dogs and doing really well!

ADOPTED 6/15 - What a great dog! You would never know that Leo, a brown and black chow chow mix, is ten years old. This beautiful dog has a lot of love to give. Leo walks well on leash and knows the "sit" command. He's been out with our mobile unit many times, and they say he's been a sweet gentle guy, likes playing with most other dogs, adores children, and is easy to walk on a leash. He's been waiting to be adopted since 4/23, please come meet him today!

ADOPTED 6/14 - One of the dog-friendliest dogs you'll ever meet! This 1 year old fawn coated Pitbull mix is very sweet and affectionate. See her web video click here. She's been out several times with our Mobile Unit and had kids petting her all day and loved it. She got along well with other dogs too! She performs the "sit" and "down" commands happily for treats, walks really well on leash and would love to be adopted soon, as she's been at our shelter since 3/14!

ADOPTED 6/14 after being rescued 3/24 by Molly's Mutts & Meows rescue. Miss Phoebe is a 6 year old lab mix. She is such a delight. She is good with everybody and everything. She was found as a stray severely underweight and had a horrible skin condition. Her coat is now nice and shiny and she is very healthy. She is a delightful, mellow girl who enjoys walking and hanging by your side while you watch HBO, loves other dogs and kids too. She did okay at the shelter around cats, but we are still not sure how she would be in a home with the feline types. We love Phoebe! See her web video click here.

ADOPTED 6/13 after being rescued on 4/16 by A Wish For Animals - "Sid" is a super cute Pitbull and Ridgeback mix who is so sweet! If you give him a massage, and he'll close his eyes and lean into you in enjoyment. He is housebroken, knows sit, down & come commands, and lived with another dog before too. He still jumps up and is very playful, so he might do best in an adult-only home. See his web video click here. He also walks wonderfully on leash without pulling. Due to a food allergy allergy, he eats a wheat-free diet.

ADOPTED 5/9/07 after being rescued 10/21/06 by FOCHP rescue! Milko is such a sweetie! She scored all A's on her temperament test, and her prior owner said she was good with the other male dog in the household (we suggest no other female dogs), is housebroken, trained, likes to ride in the car, walks well on a leash, well-behaved inside, and good with older children (just because she's wiggly and active and might knock toddlers over by mistake). ADOPTED 6/6 - This handsome red tabby will sweep you off your feet (or paws) with his dashing good looks and charm. He loves petting, rubbing, kneading, arching his back, and purring. ADOPTED 6/6 - Golden eyes and a sleek white coat make this 6 year spayed female domestic shorthair cat an absolute stunning beauty! ADOPTED 5/26 - Found locked in a warehouse, this sweet shy 4 year old was extremely underweight but had a good appetite once brought to the shelter on 12/19. Her health was double checked with a blood panel, and she is doing really well and has been waiting to find her forever home since DECEMBER! She started out being slightly shy but now she is super affectionate. She likes touch, arching her back and presenting her chin for scratching, and purring.

ADOPTED 5/25- This beautiful 2 year spayed female calico loves to be pet! When you open her cage door she'll stretch and kneading in the air, then will come over, arching her back into your hand, and present her chin for scratching, or if she's sleepy, she'll just roll over and give you her belly to pet. She is good about being picked up, and when she's in a familiar environment, will sit in your lap for a bit, but enjoys exploring and playing with cat toys too.

ADOPTED 5/16- "Mighty White" may be a bit scruffy looking, with a deformed left ear (scar tissue) and being 12 years old, but he is a sweetie!Watch his web video - click here. You can see how he loves neck scratches, and would also love a warm soft bed or windowsill to hang out on in a new loving home. He's been at the shelter since 3/20 so hopefully that is soon!

ADOPTED 5/13 after 2 months at the shelter! This tiny 2 year old, spayed female tortie beauty was found as a stray, frightened and confused. She has since relaxed and is a real sweetie. She loves attention and looks adorable when she rolls around while you pet her. She may still get shy from time to time and would likely prefer a quiet, calm home.

ADOPTED 5/8 after almost 2 months at our shelter! She is a sweet 1 1/2 year old spayed female Pitbull mix who waits quietly in her kennel for a kind hand to give her a pat. ADOPTED 5/2 - What a playful, energetic dog! This 50-lb cutie went out with our Mobile Unit on 4/7/07, where he enjoyed being brushed and playing with squeaky toys. He had a grand time playing with the two other dogs, though he does like to be "the boss". As he takes treats eagerly from your hand, he'd likely be best in a home without small children. With his short legs and adorable whiskers, he might be a Schnauzer mixed with Basset Hound, and he was estimated at 8 years old but he acts like a much younger dog. He also seems very housebroken as he will hold it in his kennel all day, waiting to be taken out for his walk.

Rescued 6/21/06 -- and her foster home fell in love and decided to keep her as of 5/4/07. "Hope" is a darling, shy Beagle mix about 10 years old. She'd likely make an ideal apartment dog, or for anyone that wants a mellow, sweet, medium-size (~ 25 lbs) dog. Gets along with other mellow dogs and cats too. Her foster home says: "Although she is very happy with us and my other dog is her best friend, she needs a home where she can have more attention and go for rides in the car (front seat) everyday - her biggest joy in life! She loves to go to PetSmart and Tams and meet and greet everyone, man and beast."

ADOPTED 4/21 - Cute dog alert! TJ, an adorable, 40 pound, 2 year spayed female Basenji mix, is housebroken and used to being an indoor, family dog. She knows several commands including, sit, down, and come, and walks well on leash. TJ also rides well in the car and likes to be included in family activities. ADOPTED 4/20 - Tuxedo is quite the talker, letting you know she wants a little petting and attention! This gorgeous 13 year old domestic short hair has hyperthyroid which requires daily medication, which may be available in a transdermal (rubbed on her ears) - please check with your vet. ADOPTED 4/17 - This gorgeous 1 year old silver tabby is calm and very loving. He enjoys petting (arching his back, presenting his chin for scratching and purring) likes to play with toys, and has been waiting patiently for a new loving home since he was found on 3/26.

ADOPTED 4/17 - is "Page" an adorable, indoor rabbit, who is just seven month old and already litterbox trained! Although she can be shy at first, her prior owner said she warms up quickly and enjoys petting more than being held.

ADOPTED 4/13 - "China" is a young, athletic dog who loves to play! Her prior owner said she was well behaved inside and housebroken. On Mobile 4/7/07: What a wonderful, playful dog! China knows "sit" and "down" commands and takes treats softly from your hand. She loves "squeaky" toys and played nicely with two other dogs, including "TJ" A202339 (see above). She is super sweet, sits on command, takes treats gently. She is very silly, energetic and sweet! On Mobile 2/17/07: Very playful!! Loves playing with tennis balls, tug-of-war, and allows toys to be taken from her with no problem. She thinks she's a lap dog. Very friendly with people who stopped by, and was good with other dogs too.

ADOPTED 4/3 - "Cesar" a 5 year old neutered male Rottweiler and Doberman mix. His prior owner said he is housebroken (though after dogs have been in a kennel for a while, they can take a bit of re-training), lived with children, and he knows sit and stay too. He's also a volunteer favorite for walks and belly rubs! He would love an active home who will appreciate his unique good looks.

ADOPTED 4/3 - This striking-looking white and brown tabby kitten may be a bit shy when you first meet him, but spend a few moments scratching his chin and he will warm up to you, arching his back into your hand to be pet and kneading his bed with his paws. He is 11 months old and would make a lovely cat for a quieter home.

ADOPTED 3/31 - AFTER 2 MONTHS AT THE SHELTER! What a great dog! This handsome, 60-pound sweetheart is both calm and affectionate. He also has very expressive ears that go back while he listens to you and then perk straight up! See them in action in his web video click here. Walks right next to you on leash without pulling, knows the "sit" command and would love to learn more. He is a 3 year old Pit Bull mix.

ADOPTED 3/31 - Such a nice dog! This 40-pound Shepherd mix sweetie was such a great dog while out with the Mobile Unit that they decided to bring him out again. He was very well behaved, enjoyed making new friends and being brushed by volunteers. He walks well on the leash and is very calm and gentle. He got along very well with one of the other dogs too, a large male. He is 2 years old, neutered, and ready to go home with you today!

ADOPTED 3/30 - This beautiful 4 year old Tortoiseshell coat cat was found with an injured paw pad on Valentine's Day, and now has made a wonderful recovery and is ready to be adopted. She loves being pet, will rub against your hand, arch her back, and present her chin for more affection.

ADOPTED 3/26 - 2 year female domestic shorthair tabby. This adorable girl was all over the place during her photo session! She loved that catnip mouse as much as she loved attention and rubbing her face against my hand. I took 2 dozen shots. The last one finally worked (at left), but you should have seen the ones of her pushing her face into the mouse upside down!

Transferred to the Burbank Shelter - then adopted! Despite what must have been a narrow escape (she was found with bite wounds on her tail) this outgoing Calico cat is all about affection! She loves people and being pet, as you can see in her web video click here. She is approximately 8 years old, and is a spayed female domestic shorthair cat.

Transferred to the Burbank Shelter - then adopted! "Munchkin" is hoping 3rd time will be the charm! Sadly her first owner passed away, then her 2nd owner could also no longer care for this affectionate, adorable cat. Click here for an adorable photo of her hiding! She went out with our mobile van, really enjoyed people and sought attention from everyone. Spent the entire time at the front of the kennel purring and letting people rub her head. 8 year spayed female.

ADOPTED after more than 3 months at the shelter! This a unusually colored young male rabbit was turned in on 12/2. Appeared on our Pasadena Pet Pals TV show and was very easy to handle and sweet. Was turned in with another rabbit, who was also adopted! He went out with our mobile van on 1/7/07 and they said he was an active and playful guy, easy to handle and mellow with people.

ADOPTED 3/8 - So adorable with her ear which is flopped like that all the time! Her prior owner said she was great with their other dogs and is housebroken. This 3 year old spayed female American Bulldog mix walks nicely on leash, knows the sit command and will lie down for treats which she takes very gently. She originally was at our shelter since October waiting to be adopted, so she is really hoping to find her forever home soon.

ADOPTED 3/3 - Attention lap cat lovers! Jojo would like nothing more than to sit in your lap while you watch TV, read a book, or take a nap. She's used to living with other cats and will make an excellent companion. Here in the shelter, this pretty girl will rub her chin on her cage door, meowing softly, politely asking for your attention. You can see her leaning in for a neck rub in her photo. At 6 years of age, she is a FREE SENIOR FOR SENIOR pet.

ADOPTED 2/27 - This gorgeous tabby is a big love bug. He loves attention even though he spends most of his time under his towel. Scratch him around his ears and you'll be his friend for life. Please ask to see him out in our cat socialization room to see how sweet he really is! At 6 years old this neutered male qualifies for a FREE SENIOR FOR SENIOR pet adoption too.

ADOPTED 2/27 - This 3 year old female tortoise shell cat is just gorgeous! She is very sweet and affectionate too - she loves affection and will rub against your hand, kneading, stretching and presenting her chin and belly for even more petting. Our staff thinks she would make a lovely lap cat, and she's been waiting for a lap to call her own since 1/16. She is ready to be adopted today!

ADOPTED 2/26 - great dog! This handsome chocolate Golden Retriever and Chow mix has been excellent with other dogs he's met. He is mellow and affectionate in his kennel, but happy to be out and sniffing around when he’s out for walks. At 5 years of age, he just qualifies for our FREE SENIOR FOR SENIOR program where adopters 60+ years do not pay an adoption fee for pets 5+ years.

Rescued 2/23... then adopted the next day thanks to Animal Alliance 310-859-7626. What a beautiful cat! Azrael, a seven year old, red tabby, is even more adorable in person. This shy guy will need a lot of love and a little bit of patience while he settles into his new home. Azreal has an easy going personality and would do well in a quiet home where he can lounge around as an only pet - he is used to being an indoor-only cat. He loves scratches under his chin, has already been neutered and is ready for adoption!

ADOPTED 2/23 - This big, all-black guy may seem shy at first, but if you stop and open his door, he'll push his head into your hand asking to be pet. He is very sweet!! His nose is healing from a scrape, and he is a 7 year old neutered male who would be a FREE SENIOR FOR SENIOR pet.

It's not technically official, but "Bosley (this handsome orange and white tabby cat) has decided that HE's adopted the adoptions office and clinic! He's was originally found in August 2006, found hit by a car with a fractured leg. As you can see from this photo of him strolling around the clinic, his leg has completely healed, however he also has early stage kidney disease, so needs a special diet (KD food) -- and a very special adopter. Please ask at the clinic/adoptions desk to meet him, or you might just see him there hanging out supervising...

ADOPTED 2/5 - This sleek and beautiful 1 year old female domestic short hair cat was found with her three kittens (who were all adopted), and now this small momma cat has been waiting for her forever home since 12/14. She's pretty overwhelmed being in the shelter, and acts shy, but if you go very slowly, she'll allow you to pet her. She would likely do best in a quiet, calm home where her beauty and poise can be appreciated to its fullest.

ADOPTED 2/3 - So sweet and submissive! This adorable 6 year old neutered male Pitbull and Hound mix likes nothing more than to bow his head down and nudge your hand to be pet through the bars of his kennel. Watch his web video click here.
