ADOPTED 12/30/2006 this 1 year old Shepherd and Pit Bull mix
cutie was found roaming with a homemade splint tied around her
front paw and leg. Her old injury didn't heal perfectly, so
she may always walk with a limp, but that doesn't slow down
this athletic, outgoing 45-pound girl a bit. Get ready to PLAY!!
You can ask to take her to the yard to see how loving and happy
she is, and how well she walks on a leash - though she still
needs to learn not to jump up. She'd excel with more training,
but already knows "sit" and "lie down" for treats. She also
enjoys other fun-loving dogs. You can watch her web
video click here which is a 6MB Windows Media file -
it may take a few minutes to start.

|
ADOPTED 12/30 - Silly girl kept on sticking her tongue out
at the camera! This 2 year female Staffordshire Bull Terrier
and Bull Terrier mix is very playful and loving. Watch
her web video here. She went out with our Mobile unit
and was wonderful with everyone she met, a big hit with the
kids who came by, and got along well with the dogs, too. She
walks really well on her leash (she's ~ 40 lbs) with a harness
- doesn't pull at all. She actually enjoys sitting in people's
laps!!

|

|
ADOPTED 12/28 - This adorable 3 month domestic shorthair kitten
was found as a tiny baby back in October, went into foster care,
got big enough to be adopted but had glaucoma in one eye so
it had to be removed. She doesn't mind a bit! She is incredibly
sweet and playful, she likes giving "kitty kisses"
by licking your fingers, and purrs up a storm the minute you
pick her up. You won't find a sweeter kitten! Because of having
only one eye, she will need to be strictly an indoor-only cat.
Please ask to see her, as she is currently living in the clinic.
|
|

|
ADOPTED 12/27 - this lovely 2 year old female Greyhound mix

elegant body of a Greyhound, and exhibits the athletic nature
that breed is known for too. Watch her RUN
video - click here -- SIT

inside too! She's been here for a long time now and would really
like to find a home soon.

ADOPTED 12/20 - this adorable outgoing 8 month old kitten was
found with multiple puncture wounds and a fractured leg back
on 11/1 -- with some TLC from our staff he's made a wonderful
recovery, and now this playful curious kitten is ready to be
adopted! He may always have a slight limp but that doesn't slow
him down a bit. He'd be happiest in a home without dogs (it
may have been a dog or coyote that injured him) and one that
will appreciate his fiesty red-tabby personality!
|
|

|

she was adopted on Saturday.
|

attention, especially neck rubs. She is playful but settles
down after a few minutes in the yard, and knows not to jump
up on you. She adores children, though she can be possessive
around her food bowl so we suggest no small children in the
home. She gets along with other dogs she meets while on walks,
and overall is a very sweet dog.
|
|

|

out for a walk! She went out with our mobile unit on 11/4 and
she was quiet, friendly & well behaved - did very well with
all the other dogs and people she met. She's been here since
10/13 waiting for a loving home.

ADOPTED 11/20 - a 1 year female who is friendly, loves to be
pet and play! She went on the Glendale TV show on 11/7, and
then out with our mobile van on 11/11/06. They said she was
little reserved at first, but she warmed up as the day progressed.
Very easy to handle and calm. She is kenneled with what looks
like her twin brother A204093, though he was found in a different

sit by your side as you brush and pet him. He'd make a lovely
companion for an older person or anyone looking for a mellow,
mature pet, who doesn't mind he can be a bit shy in new situations...
though he was very well behaved when he was on TV, and great
with other dogs out with our mobile unit. He qualifies for our

6th getting the TLC she needed to recover. She favors her leg
slightly, but does not need any more followup care - she loves
to run! We suggest walking this athletic girl with a gentle leader

mix. Look how cute she is with her one ear up and one ear down!

ADOPTED thanks to Tiger Lily Rescue 661-252-9454. A200549
Super affectionate, "Bluey" loves being pet, makes paw
biscuits the entire time you pet him. Not only is he beautiful
with his long fluffy tail, and affectionate, but this 11 month
old is still all kitten, loves to play. Give him a toy egg in
his cage, and he'll bat it around - if you make it move, he'll
pretend its alive, leap to his feet, nudge it with his paw, leap
back again when it rolled. He really wants to go home with someone,
he's been here since 8/2! |
|

|
ADOPTED 10/23 - Waiting patiently to be adopted since 9/20!
Bailey, a 4 year old Chow mix. What a sweet dog! Loves being

how he loves to play ball too! Baily's prior owner became disabled
and could no longer keep him. They said Bailey is wonderful
with dogs, cats & kids - however if left alone outside will
dig to escape. Since he's housebroken and well behaved inside,

This beautiful 3 year spayed female Shepherd mix got lots of extra

ADOPTED 8/8 - after
being rescued 6/17 by A
Wish For Animals at 949-481-6402. A197880 is "Cora"
whoe was very shy when she first came in, and we suggest a dog-experienced
home only. This 1 year old Australian Shepherd and Chow mix was
found as a stray with the female Shep A197881 pictured above,
and they are still kenneled together (but may be adopted separately)
so she'd likely do well with other dogs too. |
|

|
ADOPTED 8/7 - Are you looking for a calm, quiet, well-behaved
dog? Then look no farther. This sweet 3 year old neutered male
Sharpei and Lab mix has impeccable manners. He is a bit overwhelmed
being here in the shelter, and likes to take his time getting
to know you, but once he does he'll sit quietly next to you
and lean into you for neck scratches. He's not that big either,
maybe 45 lbs, perfect for a condo, apartment or any size home.
|
|

|
ADOPTED 8/7 - This adorable little 2 year old
domestic long hair cat has a lot of personality! She recently
had kittens and was a great mom. She loves to talk and will take
all the attention she can get. A two year old with long hair,
she'll be spayed before going to a new home. Her petite size would
make her an excellent apartment or condominium cat. Come and visit
her today! |
 |
ADOPTED 8/2 - What a handsome cat! Oliver is
a 3 year old domestic shorthair cat, with a great personality
and beautiful green eyes. He is very friendly and needs a permanent
loving home. Oliver already has a microchip that can be updated
with your information. Oliver would love to be part of your family.
|
|

|
ADOPTED 8/2 - "Spooky" is one of those highly adoptable
dogs that make the shelter's adoption staff scratch their head,
trying to figure out why she hasn't been adopted. She's young
(1 yr old), small (weighs 25 lbs), friendly, not a barker, super
cute with a very unusual blue cream dilute coat. The mobile
unit took her out and noted: Very smart dog. She knows "sit"
and "down", and a volunteer taught her to "roll
over". She is good with most larger dogs, and she really
enjoys playing with noise-making toys.

|

|
ADOPTED 7/31 A196237 A staff favorite!! Super social, this
3 year old tabby loves hanging out in our offices, attending "meetings"
(sleeping under the desk), "supervising" (purring loudly
when you pet him) and generally being one of the most amazing
cats you'll ever meet. .Watch his
web video here - uses Windows Media Player, 5 MB file
may take time to start. He had a benign lump removed from his
leg which is now totally healed. He's stayed in the back area
of the shelter ever since, because we have no room to move him
into the cat ward, so make sure to ask for "Artoo" (named
after the kennel he's been in since 5/22, "R2") when
you come in to meet him. |
|

|
ADOPTED 7/29 - Look at that doggie smile! A198124 is this cute

cats is suggested. He is about 40 pounds, and walks like a feather
on a leash.

children and is aces at the "stay" command, is housebroken,
and knows not to jump up, even when she is happily greeting you
when you come home. To top it off, this lovely 3 year old dog
is good on a leash and likes to ride in a car. Would likely make
an excellent family dog, as she is well behaved both inside the
house and outside in the yard, and would benefit from daily walks
around your neighborhood or in the park too.

Rescued 3/11 please contact Jack
Russsell Rescue 661-269-5658 for dogs like Felix.
A174992 Felix, a four year old Jack Russell terrier mix, loves
children, adults, and other dogs (although he does chase cats).
He gets lonely if left alone all day, so he would do best in a
household with other dogs or with people at home for at least
part of the day. Hes full of energy and likes to play, but
enjoys being a lap dog, too. NOTE: His front legs grew incorrectly
- called "carpal varus" - but they do not seem to cause
him any pain and likely will not require treatment. |
|

|
ADOPTED 6/27 A195927 "Gracie" gracefully raised her
litter of kittens in one of our staff's offices, and now she is
ready to be adopted herself! This tiny tortie cat is 1 1/2 years

come in! |

mix has been at the shelter since 6/1, found originally as a

but he's a little shy. However, spend some time with him, and
soon, he will leaning his head against your body and giving
you his paw and lots of kisses. This smart boy will sit and
lie down for treats and would love to learn more. He would likely
do best with a patient home - though he loves playing with other
dogs!

to be adopted out of state! A195275 2 year neutered
male Tabby. You won't meet a more outgoing talkative cat! This
handsome tabby adores affection, and he plays like the rough and
tumble adolescent boy he is. He'd love to go to a home where he's
got lots of room to run and play (safely indoors preferably) and
who won't mind his meowing up a conversation when he's through.

991-0071 his ID# there was A3524136. This darling 4 year old Cocker
Spaniel was found as a stray so severely matted his legs couldn't
move! We had him groomed and now look at this handsome boy. Due
do his prior neglect, his untreated eye infection caused him to
go blind in his right eye, and he'll likely need eye drops daily
from now on, but all of this hasn't changed the loving nature
of this resilient guy a bit- he loves to go on walks, get pets
and affection, and got an "A" on his temperament evaluation.

he is now adopted and lliving happily with another dog! |
|

|
ADOPTED 3/29 - A192997 This lovely 5 year old Shepherd
mix is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He got an "A"

was rescued from the Pasadena Humane Society in the nick of
time by Animal Kind Rescue with
the help of 21 third grade students from south Los Angeles and
their teacher and PHS volunteer Ryo. These wonderful students
gave up their Christmas presents and asked their teacher to
donate $300 to any rescue group that would take Frankie. He
is a 7-8 years old Shepherd mix about 60 lbs., already neutered,
micro-chipped, and current on his vaccinations. This active
senior absolutely LOVES to play with tennis balls. Throw one
and he'll catch it mid-air! He knows his sits and will lie down
for treats. He enjoys car rides, even if the car's not moving!

mind other calm disinterested dogs. This goofy boy will surely
make you smile with his silly antics. He would really appreciate
being able to spend his golden years getting tummy rubs and
cuddling with his forever family. By adopting this wonderful
boy, you'd put a smile on 21 kids, give them hope, and teach
them they CAN make a difference. Animal Kind Rescue has more
wonderful dogs, see them atanimalkindrescue.org

|

|
ADOPTED 3/11 - A191133 - Look at that furry belly! "Lola"

a diet in her new home. |
|

|
Rescued and then Adopted thanks to

dog new tricks, especially when they are as treat-motivated as
this lovely 6 year old neutered male Shepherd mix. He's wonderful
on leash, gentle and calm. When you take him out in the play yard,
he may seem preoccupied sniffing investigating in the yard, but
he's super affectionate in his kennel run and we think he would
be in a new home too. Took out on the mobile unit 01-15-06 and
he was great with all the other dogs we brought and shared a pen
with a spayed female. Loves to be pet.
|
|

|
ADOPTED TOGETHER 1/28/2006 - A189893 is Yin because he has more
black on his face. A189892 is Yang because he has more white.

short hair cats go so well together. They were found as strays
back on December 17, 2005 and have been waiting with zen-like
patience for an adopter to take them home.
