Click for our current Pets of The Week page.

ADOPTED 12/30/2006 this 1 year old Shepherd and Pit Bull mix cutie was found roaming with a homemade splint tied around her front paw and leg. Her old injury didn't heal perfectly, so she may always walk with a limp, but that doesn't slow down this athletic, outgoing 45-pound girl a bit. Get ready to PLAY!! You can ask to take her to the yard to see how loving and happy she is, and how well she walks on a leash - though she still needs to learn not to jump up. She'd excel with more training, but already knows "sit" and "lie down" for treats. She also enjoys other fun-loving dogs. You can watch her web video click here which is a 6MB Windows Media file - it may take a few minutes to start.

ADOPTED 12/30 - Silly girl kept on sticking her tongue out at the camera! This 2 year female Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Bull Terrier mix is very playful and loving. Watch her web video here. She went out with our Mobile unit and was wonderful with everyone she met, a big hit with the kids who came by, and got along well with the dogs, too. She walks really well on her leash (she's ~ 40 lbs) with a harness - doesn't pull at all. She actually enjoys sitting in people's laps!!

ADOPTED 12/28 - This adorable 3 month domestic shorthair kitten was found as a tiny baby back in October, went into foster care, got big enough to be adopted but had glaucoma in one eye so it had to be removed. She doesn't mind a bit! She is incredibly sweet and playful, she likes giving "kitty kisses" by licking your fingers, and purrs up a storm the minute you pick her up. You won't find a sweeter kitten! Because of having only one eye, she will need to be strictly an indoor-only cat. Please ask to see her, as she is currently living in the clinic.

ADOPTED 12/27 - this lovely 2 year old female Greyhound mix adores being pet and being with people. She knows "sit" "down" and "shake" commands, gets along well with other dogs, and is a lot of fun! She has the long elegant body of a Greyhound, and exhibits the athletic nature that breed is known for too. Watch her RUN video - click here -- SIT PRETTY video - click here Windows Medias file are 5MB and may take time to start. She is housebroken and well-behaved inside too! She's been here for a long time now and would really like to find a home soon.

ADOPTED 12/26- Meet the purrfect pet! This beautiful, playful, and gentle 6 year old Tortie would make an excellent companion for an individual or family. With her petite size, she would be very comfortable in an apartment or condo. While out with our Mobile Outreach van on 11/19/06, the staff and volunteers noted: Mellow, gentle and easy to handle. She is an easy going cat, and likes being held and petted. FREE SENIOR FOR SENIOR PET.

ADOPTED 12/20 - this adorable outgoing 8 month old kitten was found with multiple puncture wounds and a fractured leg back on 11/1 -- with some TLC from our staff he's made a wonderful recovery, and now this playful curious kitten is ready to be adopted! He may always have a slight limp but that doesn't slow him down a bit. He'd be happiest in a home without dogs (it may have been a dog or coyote that injured him) and one that will appreciate his fiesty red-tabby personality!

ADOPTED 12/16 - this 1 year old beauty was found with her sister (who was adopted), both adore attention and love to play! She went out with our mobile van several times, they said she travelled really well, was very sweet and friendly with everyone she met, consistently purring and seeking attention while at the stop. She spent the entire time at the front of the kennel purring and rubbing up against visitors. She was waiting to be adopted longer than any other cat at the shelter (over 2 months!) when she was adopted on Saturday.

ADOPTED 12/13 - A200304 is a very sweet young white & gray Californian female rabbit, who recently went out with our mobile unit. They said she was quiet and well behaved, and enjoyed an occasional scratch.

ADOPTED 12/13 - Isn't Duffy adorable? She absolutely adores attention, especially neck rubs. She is playful but settles down after a few minutes in the yard, and knows not to jump up on you. She adores children, though she can be possessive around her food bowl so we suggest no small children in the home. She gets along with other dogs she meets while on walks, and overall is a very sweet dog.

ADOPTED 12/5 - this adorable girl is so cute she was originally booked in as a kitten! She's actually 2 years old, and while she still has that playful sweetness of a younger cat, but all the advantages a calmer maturity brings. She was found back on 10/11 with her litter of kittens who were all adopted, now this lovely lady is hoping she will find her forever home too.

ADOPTED 12/2 - Chubby may have been chubby as a puppy, but this beautiful blonde 5 year old is more like a super model now! She's got long elegant legs and adorable short ears (she's likely a Lab mixed with SharPei). Her prior owner said she is very well behaved, is housebroken, and was kept primarily as an indoor dog. She also qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program, where adopters over the age of 60 may adopt any pet 5 years or older, for FREE thanks to petsfortheelderly.org.

ADOPTED 11/25 - a 10 month domestic shorthair. This beauty is very elegant, with her shiny black fur and glorious yellow eyes. She's been here over a month (since 10/7) and her kennelmate got adopted, now she's waiting to find her forever home! She adores being petted, will arch her back and rub up against your hand asking for affection, enjoys playing with toys, and been social with the other cats she's been kenneled with too.

ADOPTED 11/25 - a 4 year old female Lab/Shepherd mix. A real sweetheart! She sits on command, walks well on her leash and takes treats so gently. She may happily bark when you stand out in front of her kennel, but she's just asking to be taken out for a walk! She went out with our mobile unit on 11/4 and she was quiet, friendly & well behaved - did very well with all the other dogs and people she met. She's been here since 10/13 waiting for a loving home.

ADOPTED 11/20 - a 1 year female who is friendly, loves to be pet and play! She went on the Glendale TV show on 11/7, and then out with our mobile van on 11/11/06. They said she was little reserved at first, but she warmed up as the day progressed. Very easy to handle and calm. She is kenneled with what looks like her twin brother A204093, though he was found in a different city. They can be adopted separately, but you can adopt a 2nd cat for only $10 more during our 2 fur 1 special, so just $75 for two - a promotion that will end soon.

ADOPTED 11/18 - such a gentleman of a dog, a sweet calm 7 year old Shepherd mix who enjoys going to the play yard, where he'll sit by your side as you brush and pet him. He'd make a lovely companion for an older person or anyone looking for a mellow, mature pet, who doesn't mind he can be a bit shy in new situations... though he was very well behaved when he was on TV, and great with other dogs out with our mobile unit. He qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program, where adopters over the age of 60 may adopt any pet 5 years or older, for FREE thanks to petsfortheelderly.org.

ADOPTED 11/18 - a staff favorite! No wonder, as this big gorgous guy has an amazing personality to match his good looks and size. He adores be pet, is playful, will purr up a storm the minute you pick him up and likes nothing more than to meet new people. This lovely and leggy 2 year 6 month old German Shepherd mix was at our shelter since January 6th getting the TLC she needed to recover. Baily's prior owner became disabled and could no longer keep him. They said Bailey is wonderful with dogs, cats & kids - however if left alone outside will dig to escape. Since he's housebroken and well behaved inside, he'd be happiest as a primarily indoor pet. Not a barker.

Rescued 10/16 and then adopted by 10/21 thanks to Diane with Aussie Rescue - reddogranch3@aol.com for more dogs like... "BJ" a super friendly dog who loves to be pet - and even thinks he is a lap dog! His prior owner said he was very well behaved inside the house, is housebroken, and was great with other dogs, including his friend Cody (also rescued). BJ will jump a fence or dash out the door to attack cats, so definitely needs a home without small children that might leave a gate or door open, even though he is great with kids too.

This beautiful 3 year spayed female Shepherd mix got lots of extra TLC (and surgery) for an injured leg at our shelter, and made an amazing recovery.
