A227764 is "Simba" a neutered male, tan and black Shepherd mix, about 5 years old, who's been at the shelter since Mar 13, 2008. What a fantastic dog! This sweet guy is well behaved, knows basic commands and gets along well with people and other dogs. While out with our Mobile Unit he was mellow and loved meeting new people. While at our "Shelter School" program he was a star and the winner of the musical chairs game. He is a free adoption for adopters over 60. click for adoption info
A228749 - Lili, a beautiful diluted calico 7 year old cat is ready for adoption! This long-hair girl is not only beautiful but she has a sweet personality as well. A224396 is "Chloe" and what a fabulous dog! This sweet 7 year old Labrador and Pitbull mix is not only pretty but calm, loving and very smart. She knows the "sit" command, takes food nicely, and is friendly with everyone she meets. Watch her YouTube video of her playing in the water! She loves to play with other dogs and children, and is very patient with the younger ones too. A228008 - While out with our Mobile Unit on 4/6/08 she was initially shy but came around over time and was very sweet with people. She knows the "sit" command and walks really well on leash. A229336 is a female longhair cat, about 3 years old, who's been at the shelter since Apr 16, 2008. This lovely black smoke cat is looking for a new home. He is very spunky and full of energy but when he runs out of steam he's a real love bug. He may prefer a home with someone who can give him plenty of attention.

She went out with our mobile on 3/8/08 and they said, "She has a ton of energy and loves going for runs and walks. She needs some work on social skills; both with dogs and with people, as she is really mouthy with people and gets super-excited."

Although she is blind, deaf, and incontient, she couldn't be sweeter and loves to snuggle in laps. She is quiet and calm, and spends most of the day sleeping in a soft spot if she can. Cindy Lou is looking for a home where she will receive plenty of love and attention.

He is likely a mix of Pitbull and possibly Rottweiler, Labrador, or a smaller hound type dog, as he weighs 48-pounds and has very unique markings. He has been a volunteer favorite, as he walks really well on leash, knows the "sit" and "down" commands. He gets along well with other dogs, takes treats really gently. He walks perfectly at your side, responds politely and promptly when you ask him to sit, and will offer his paw if you ask for that too. With his wrinkled brow, he looks very studious as he attends to his very important, self appointed task of sniffing all his surroundings. He is in excellent health, neutered, weighs 50 pounds, and is ready to go home with you today.

This gentle Siberian Husky sweetheart loves going for slow walks, or just sitting with you quietly in the yard. She can be a little timid in her new surroundings, but with some patience and love, she comes around very quickly, and will do a happy little dance when she sees people she knows and wants to go on a walk! Rescued 11/10 by Westside German Shepherd Rescue, sill needs a home! Call 310-202-7283 to meet her. "Fran" was adopted but sadly returned to our shelter for climbing out over their chain link fence. She is an incredibly sweet loving girl, a volunteer favorite! She knows her sit and is eager to please. She needs 7ft+ solid fencing, as she is very athletic and good at climbing. She has a skin condition, which has improved a great deal since she arrived at PHS. She has met other German Shepherds and was disinterested and not aggressive. Very outgoing, playful, and smart! Good about being bathed too.

RESCUED BY ADOPTACHOWLA call 310-306 2871 for info on adopting "Shyler"- this sweet, golden-colored 3-4 year old Golden Retriever/Jindo mix was found underweight with her ears eaten by flies. "Top Dog" was rescued on 7/26 by the Dog Rescue Network in Atascadero, CA and is still looking for her forever home in that area . Found as a stray, this 8 year old spayed female Pitbull mix came with a tag that said "Top Dog" so that's what we've been calling her - a name she really deserves! Watch her web video click here. She loves to go on walks, doesn't pull at all on the leash, will hop up on the bench to sit calmly next to you to be pet (she loves ear scratches), is affectionate, calm, and SO sweet! She had a small skin growth that was removed and she recovered perfectly. She would love to be adopted today!

Although this beautiful girl was a bit shy when she first came to the shelter, she has blossomed into an affectionate and talkative little sweetheart! "Clowny" now named "Cleo" is a super sweet, affectionate and beautiful longhair, 4 years old, who was one of 10 cats turned in by their prior owner, who said they were well behaved indoor pets that know not to scratch furniture or jump on counters, and lived with dogs and children too. Originally when "Kitten" - a 1 year female domestic shorthair cat - was turned in back on March 16th, she was very scared being at the shelter. Her prior owner had lost their home, and was able to find places for their other pets, but not her. With time, affection, and a new name ("Chelsea") she has relaxed and now is showing her true sweet nature, though she is still shy and is looking for a quiet, patient home.

This super affectionate & playful kitten has the cutest markings making her look like she's wearing a little tuxedo, complete with four white paws and fancy white whiskers. She and her nearly identical sister and brother are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and looking for a new home either separately or together.
