| Happy Adoption Stories - Moose
March 28, 2005
I wanted to share an update with you on Moose. PHS gave Moose to
a rescue group on 12-3-04 who helped Moose travel to us. Moose was
a sweet stray who seemed to be about 10 years old and seemed to
be a newfoundland/lab mix.He couldn't find a home in California
but he's been a perfect fit here in Virginia.
Moose looked so much like the Newfoundland dog we already had that
we couldn't pass him by. Also, my son had been truly wanting "his
own" dog. Well Moose fills that role perfectly.
Moose came to us already house-broken and used to living in a house.
He loves car rides and gets along well with all the people and dogs
he meets. When you get out his leash to take him for a walk, he
carries it in his mouth and prances all the way to the front door.
The only training we've had to do with Moose is teaching him to
go up a flight of stairs so he can sleep with my son. Moose sleeps
on the bed with my son every night. During the day he often snuggles
with our other dog in the TV room. Even though there's two dog beds
in the room they often share one.
Moose recently had a big day when he passed his tests and joined
our other dog as a therapy dog at the local nursing home. He was
an instant hit. Many people commented on how gentle he is and how
handsome.
Thanks,
Sharon
