Happy Adoption Stories - Ardala
July 10, 2007
Just wanted to thank everyone at PHSSPCA for all their help!
Last May, my roommate and I were finally able to adopt a dog. We
were looking for a "big dog in a small dog suit". I checked
the website for weeks and finally saw "Ester", listed
as a shepherd mix. While a shepherd was really bigger than our landlord
wanted, I thought she looked a little small-ish in her picture.
Three days later we went to see her at PHSSPCA and I was right!
She was the perfect size - both physically and personality-wise
- for us. She had been an owner turn-in, but they had adopted her
only 3 months before from another shelter, who had found her as
a stray. Nonetheless, she was very friendly, well socialized and
completely housetrained. To this day, we still can't believe anyone
would surrender such an awesome dog. With help from the Behavior
and Training programs at PHSSPCA, Ardala ("Ester" was
just not a good name for her) has become a crazy, silly, well-behaved
(mostly) member of the family. People ask where we got our cute
"Minature German Shepherd", and when we tell them she
was from a shelter, they're shocked!
Here's a picture of Ardala right before we shooed her off the drapes.
Thanks again, Pasadena Humane Society!
