Perfect Harmony

Karen Kiefaber has a passion for life…and for the animals. As a Companion Sponsor of our 2005 Wiggle Waggle Walk, Run & Ride on October 2, Karen's generous support will help us care for the many animals we take in every day. We are thrilled that she will be a part of this terrific event that gives them a Second Chance to find loving, permanent homes.

In her position as divisional vice president for licensing and music at Hot Topic, a nationally recognized clothing company catering to teenagers with a taste for alternative, punk rock and gothic garb, the Los Angeles resident says she is used to working with people who have a passion for what they do. At the Humane Society, she says she also sees a strong dedication among employees to our mission of providing care and compassion for all animals.

"You really feel good about going to the shelter…I've worked with a great group of people there," said Karen, an unabashed animal lover who cares for a passel of pooches: PHS alums Lucky, a 14-year-old cocker spaniel, and Agnus, a 9-year-old blue basset hound; along with Elvis, a 6-year-old dachshund, and Bailey, a 5-year-old Beagle.

Karen's commitment to our shelter goes beyond financial support, however. She routinely forwards our website to coworkers and friends in the hopes of finding homes for the animals here. And she always has her hopes up.
