Pasadena Humane Society to Handle Glendale Animal Control
The Pasadena Humane Society has opened its gates to the City of Glendale
on October 1, 2002 having accepted a $201,873 3-month interim contract
to provide animal-control services for local residents.
For the duration of this contract, PHS has agreed to offer full services
to the city of Glendale's animals, including medical care for all incoming
animals, after-hour responses, a trap-neuter-return program, humane education
and full shelter control and staffing. Glendale animals will be housed
in our 1.5 acre state-of-the-art facility located at 361 S. Raymond Street
in Pasadena.
Glendale is the seventh city for which we provide animal-control services.
Our facility has handled animal control for Pasadena, La Canada-Flintridge,
South Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre and Arcadia -- cities with a
combined population of 300,000. Glendale adds an additional population
of 200,000 residents to that figure.
Glendale is informing its population on the change through informational
fliers at City Hall and public libraries, public service announcements
on Charter Cable Channel 6 and a link to our website from the City of
Glendale's website.
