PHS Open Sundays

Although it is April Fool's Day, we are serious about finding the perfect pet for you! The Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA will be open for business on Sundays beginning April 1 and closed to the public on Mondays.

To celebrate our "new" opening, Liz Baronowski, Vice-President of Educational Outreach, will hold 2 classes on First Aid for Animals exclusively on April 1. These classes will be open to the public on a first come first served basis at 1pm and 2:30 pm. Throughout the day, members of the Board of Directors, volunteers and staff will be available to give behind the scenes tours of the facility.

Pet Food Recall

In case you hadn't heard the news already, there has been a major recall of many brands of canned and pouched pet food due to a bad ingredient that is causing liver failure and deaths in pets. We have a marquee on our website announcing the recall, which links to the pet food manufacturer's list of brands and products affected by the recall (see also link below). We suggest checking all your can and pouch food to see if it matches any of the brands they list.

Wiggle Waggle Walk Committees

The planning committee for the Pasadena Humane Society's 2007 Wiggle Waggle Walk for the Animals is now forming and we want your help to make this much-loved event bigger and better than ever!

The committee is currently seeking energetic and enthusiastic volunteers to join a fantastic group of people responsible for putting on the shelter's biggest fundraiser of the year, which will take place Sunday, September 30 at the world-famous Rose Bowl and Brookside Park. Participants can choose a 3-mile walk around the outside of the Rose Bowl or a 1-mile walk in front of the stadium, and then enjoy a free Family Fun Fair with shows, demonstrations, children's activities and vendors.

Pets of The Week

Please visit our shelter ASAP if you are interested in adopting any of these pets. You may call or email us first at 626-792-7151 or webmaster@phsspca.org to make sure they are still here, but please understand we cannot place holds over the phone or by email, you must come in person during our adoption hours. Thank you.

A208182 - What a great dog! This handsome, 60-pound sweetheart is both calm and affectionate. He also has very expressive ears that go back while he listens to you and then perk straight up! See them in action in his web video click here. Walks right next to you on leash without pulling, knows the "sit" command and would love to learn more. He is a 3 year old Pit Bull mix.

A209740 - 2 year female domestic shorthair tabby. This adorable girl was all over the place during her photo session! She loved that catnip mouse as much as she loved attention and rubbing her face against my hand. I took 2 dozen shots. The last one finally worked (at left), but you should have seen the ones of her pushing her face into the mouse upside down!
