Adoptathon Sunday

On Sunday, October 8th, 2006 we will be having a special "Adoptathon" event with our rescue partners! Normally the shelter is closed, however on this one Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. you can come meet rescued animals for adoption and enjoy live acoustic music, all inside our spacious (and air-conditioned) training facility, located in the building to the north of our kennel facility. It's our way of saying "thank you" for all the wonderful work rescue organizations do rescuing animals from our shelter, and placing them into loving homes.

For more details - and soon a poster you can print and post to help promote the event - go to:

Pets of The Week

Please visit our shelter ASAP if you are interested in adopting any of these pets. You may call or email us first at 626-792-7151 or webmaster@phsspca.org to make sure they are still here, but please understand we cannot place holds over the phone or by email, you must come in person during our adoption hours. Thank you.

A194331 "Sandy" 8 year old Husky/Lab mix. Playful, affectionate, and sweet! Knows her sit command and will lie down for treats. Prior owner said she's housebroken, well-behaved inside, and is friendly and loving with both children and adults, though she is good about protecting her yard and may dig to escape, and will bark if you leave her tied up outside. Seems good with other dogs too. An all-around amazing dog! She qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors program, where people over the age of 60 may adopt any pet 5 years or older, for FREE.

A200549 "Bluey" is super affectionate, loves being pet, makes paw biscuits the entire time you pet him. Not only is he beautiful and affectionate, but this 11 month old is still all kitten, loves to play. Give him a toy egg in his cage, and he'll bat it around - if you make it move, he'll pretend its alive, leap to his feet, nudge it with his paw, leap back again when it rolled. He really wants to go home with someone, he's been here since 8/2.
